Philippe CHALMIN is the founder and president of Cyclope
Philippe is a graduate of HEC, holds a teaching training degree in history, Doctor of Arts and Human Science and has a PhD in History. He has been Professor of Economic History at the University of Paris-Dauphine since 1994 and Director of the Master’s Degree in International Affairs since 1999. He is the founder and president of Cyclope, the main research and study structure on international markets. He is also a columnist and commentator for many French medias (BFM, BFM Business, Le Monde, Le Figaro), President of the Observatory of Price Formation and Food Margins for the Minister of Agriculture and the Minister of Economy and Finance, author, consultant for the World Bank and the European Union and lecturer.
He is a member of numerous scientific and administrative missions including the scientific council of the observatory and statistics department of the General Commission for Sustainable Development, the scientific council of INERIS and the scientific committee of the Axelera competitiveness cluster. Since the end of the seventies, he has been closely following developments in the French agricultural and food-processing world, as evidenced by his initial work on the economics of the sectors and his more recent reflections on the evolution of agricultural policies, particularly in Europe.
